Sunday Dinner

Hey Folkes, what's for Sunday dinner? With everyone present this year, we don't want to skimp on the food. We want plenty, different verityies, some like one thing and some like another. Some may not even like half of it so we need choices, yes? What time do we ring the dinner bell? What about deserts, cookies only? I'll make a desert that Daddy should like, cinda like cherry delight but made with chocolate pudding and a cool whip topping.
Took a neighbor to the hospital today for tests, Floyd County. Stopped at the telephone office to speak to Kenny Lynn, she wanted to stop at the clothing giveaway place, I wanted to stop at the health food store, we stopped at McDonalds for a fish sandwich, the on to the Goodwill store. I didn't feel free to look 'cause she stayed right at my elbow. She offered to hold my stuff while I looked and kept telling me to take all the time I wanted, but I didn't get to look like I wanted to. She lives alone, husband gone, said she really enjoy her time with me.
Back to dinner. I'll make mashed potatoes, sweet potatoers, cranberry salad, turkey and tea. I'll thaw some frozen corn and make a pan of rolls, that way they will be hot from the oven. If someone comes early, they can help with the gravy and whatever else needs done. Sarah, you available? I guess dinner is here at my house? See ya then, if not before.

Merry Christmas

Good morning and Merry Christmas everyone! Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, only me. Finally I can wind my day down at 2:00 am. We had to go to Sears today and buy a new washing machine. Brought it home and Kenny and I carried it down the hill out back and into the house, wow, it was heavy! Got the other one moved out of the way and the new one all set up. Back up a little. Kenny opened the carten and the side of it was bent in. We worked on it awhile but couldn't do much for it so we decided we could live with it that way since it was already in the basement. Washed a load and it took three tries to get it to quit leaking Seemed like it took for ever to get done, I didn't time it but it spun and spun and spun. Finally Kenny turned it off and I put them in the dryer and started another load. I timed this one, after one hour and 20 minutes into the cycle I turnen it off. The third load I let it run 1 hour 25 min. and the nex one I terminated it after 1hr. 30 min. Needless to say, Kenny said it's going back to the gitten place on Monday, besides, Itwould spin so long it smelled hot. Hope he has them come get it, it's too heavy to go back up the hill, but knowing him, we'll probably do it. Got our tree up, finally, 2 days before Christmas. Decorated a little. Well, I'm hungry, it's 3:00 so I'll go check out the sugerplums before Santa finds me still up. Good Night and Good Morning.

Smashing Good Time

GOOD morning Gang. IT'S 2:40 AM but I'll try to post a note if I don't fall off the chair. Got back from Rachel's a while ago, long drive. We got the wall down and the studs, or rather Kenny did. We helped but he did the most part. We didn't have the big mess I thought we'd have 'cause he removed most of it in big sheets instead of takeing a sledge hammer to it. It really opened it up. We did all we could in one night and will have to waight till we get back from Florida to do wireing and such. Greg didn't think he could wait till we got there to eat and boy did he dive in to the bar-b-que. Rachel loved it to. Timmy took one little bite then came over to me and whispered in my ear that it was not good like he thought it was. He just don't like bar-b-que. Kenny had a little accident. The drill slipped and the sharp tip of the phillips screwdriver bit drilled into the middle of his thumb nail, went in quite a ways, bled awhile. On the way home he said he nearly wet his britches it hurt so bad. Motcho man that he is, he only said "Ouch" afew times and "Shoo" a few times, shook his hand a few times and kept on working. It's 3:05 now so dream on. Lois
Had a swell, memorable, funfilled, warm fuzzyfeeling kind of day, spent with my sweet, dear sisters, my wonderfull, kind, sweet, dearest loving mommie, and our one and only sweet 'niece-in-law? I cherish all our times spent together, just talking, laughing and 'cutting up'. Also, can't forget our 'nice niece' Sarah Beth. Isn't she growing up so fast? Soon she'll be 'one of us' included in all the 'big girl ' stuff and nonsence. I haven't figured out yet how to drop to the next line for a new paragraph so we're running all together. Gotta get up from here and get ready to go help Rachel knock out her wall tonight. We should have a big, knock-out time. She called to see if I could come over in the morning, said she had to be at work bu 1:00, that we could have it done by then. Not! I called Kenny at work to run it by him and he said, "Hmm," I thought, "Oh no" now what? I ask what he was thinking and he said, "I was just wondering how I could go with you" So....... I have to meetat himat work at 5:00 with the sledge hammer and saw-saw and we'll go be distructive awhile. She'll like the results when it's all finished, she'll feel like a bird out of the cage. I'll take some fresh shreded, seasoned venison, said she has the bar-b-que sauce, buns and tea. Can't beat that. Ya'll stay dry, I'll talk to you later. Lois
