This will be quick. The sun is popping over the hill in all of it's brightness, like liquid gold, spreading it's warmth over the frosty ground. Our thermometer read 15 degrees, ooooooeeeeeeeeee! Had ice on top of the pool all day yesterday. Thank God for a nice warm house. Lastnight Hubby said if he wasn't so foolish as to buy that barn, we'd have a wood furnace this winter. Oh well, he's still discouraged over not being able to finish it. The frame and 2 sheets of roofing are up. Other than that, it's been too wet and MUDDY, and no time to work on it. Days are to short now when he gets home from work to go over there. We've had so much rain too, that he can't get much done on weekends. It will be nice when it's finished, he'll feel better about it then. [except for the payments]
He's done all the work himself, except for some help from family, when they have a little time off from work. I'd like to surprise him and hire the roof put on, he don't need to be up there.
I'm about to dance a gig sitting right here. I'm listening to Daniel O'Donnell and he sets the feet to dancing.
Made myself a cup of hot 'chocolate creme' coffee and made Timmy hot peppermint tea. Sent him to his room to get dressed and bed made but I also hear him watching 'Backyard Habitat' on Animal Planet. He has chocolate chip cookies to bake today, we , or I should say he, mixed them up last night. He's been begging for awhile to make some. He helped Sarah make 'friendship bread' over at moms house on her day off. She has more patience then I do. Last night I had a time just trying to keep him from eating the butter while mixing it, also he had to taste test the sugar, flour, maple syrup and chocolate chips and then the dough. Oh well, I remember eating my share and then some, and some and some....
He's reading 3 and 4 letter words now. The best way to get him to do it is to tell him he don't know how to read or that he's forgotten the words. Then he's willing to prove us wrong and read them.
Sharon, brought in your Norfolk Pine tree yesterday. Sarah called from work and said they wanted it. I hated to let it freeze but I just didn't want to bother with it this winter. It did sit out two nights ago at 20 degrees but it didn't seem to hurt it that I can tell , yet. Just measured it at 7 feet tall. Did leave my banana tree out to freeze, it was about 10 feet tall and had no room for it. Could have cut it off and saved it but 10 years of dragging it in and out was enough.
Oh my, how the son reveals the dust on my desk, yikes! My maid quit, hence all the dirt and dust. HA HA.
Timmy lost his third tooth in the front on top, big toothless grin now. Wish I had a digital camera to show ya.
Guess I'd better wrap this up, He's been been back three times to see if I'm done blogging. He said, "You said it would only be a quick minute." I guess I failed to tell him it would be a 'mamma minute.' It's off to cookie baking then schoolwork. Come have cookies and coffee with us.
