At historic Michie Tavern, ca. 1784, just below Jefferson's beloved Monticello [meaning Little Mountain] the pages of history are turned back more than 200 years where a striking portrayal of preRevolutionaary life may still be observed.

Michie tavern was established in 1784 by a Scotsman William Michie. The tavern served as the social center of it's community and accommodated travelers with food, drink, lodging and "good keeping of horses." This Virginia Historic Landmark was relocated to Monticello Mountain in 1927 and became a textbook example of the 1920's Preservation Movement. www.michietavern.com
